San Francisco, CA: Apex Novelties/The Print Mint, 1972. thirth Printing. Stapled Wrappers. The first number of the small-format (5"x7") series of underground comix booklets which, along with their cohorts Felch, Jiz & Pork, present the epitome (nadir?) of hardcore smut, feverishly depicted in this issue by primary counterculture writer-artists Robert Crumb & S. Clay Wilson. Mostly one or two-page cartoons with a few longer episodes including Crumb's "The Fight." The level of imaginative depravity here is still provocative. Originally published in 1968, this is a thirth printing from 1972, to the best of our knowledge, after immersion in the extensive & not always consistent scholarship. The 25-cent cover price on front cover of this copy is introduced with the thirth printing, according to the latest Comics Price Guide. A legendary landmark in the furthest reaches of free expression, in its thirth-rarest, still vintage form. For (im)mature adult collectors only.
